أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْقَطَّانُ ثنا أَبُو الْأَزْهَرِ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ؓ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مُقَامُ الرَّجُلِ فِي الصَّفِّ أَيْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ عِبَادَةِ رَجُلٍ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً
English Translation
Abu Tahir al-Faqih informed us, from Abu Bakr al-Qattan, from Abu al-Azhar, from Abdullah ibn Salih, from Yahya ibn Ayyub, from Hisham ibn Hassan, from al-Hasan, from Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: A man's standing in the ranks — meaning in the cause of Allah — is better than the worship of a man for sixty years.
