قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ثنا حَسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ صَالَحَ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ أَهْلَ الْحِيرَةِ وَأَهْلَ عَيْنِ التَّمْرِ قَالَ وَكَتَبَ بِذَلِكَ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ ؓ فَأَجَازَهُ قَالَ يَحْيَى قُلْتُ لِلْحَسَنِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ فَأَهْلُ عَيْنِ التَّمْرِ مِثْلُ أَهْلِ الْحِيرَةِ إِنَّمَا هُوَ شَيْءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَيْسَ عَلَى أَرْضِهِمْ شَيْءٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ صالح خالد بن الوليد اهل الحيره و ءهل عين التمر
English Translation
Yahya narrated to us from Hasan ibn Salih, from Ash'ath, from al-Sha'bi who said: Khalid ibn al-Walid made peace with the people of al-Hirah and the people of Ayn al-Tamr. He wrote about that to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), who approved it. Yahya said: I said to al-Hasan ibn Salih: So the people of Ayn al-Tamr are like the people of al-Hirah? It is only something upon them personally and not upon their land? He said: Yes.
