أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ إِمْلَاءً ثنا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ النَّحْوِيِّ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي سَرْحٍ يَكْتُبُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَزَلَّهُ الشَّيْطَانُ فَلَحِقَ بِالْكُفَّارِ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُقْتَلَ فَاسْتَجَارَ لَهُ عُثْمَانُ ؓ فَأَجَارَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
English Translation
Narrations about the treatment of hypocrites in Islamic law — they are treated according to their outward actions. The Prophet (peace be upon him) judged people by their apparent actions and left their inner beliefs to Allah. Those who profess Islam are treated as Muslims unless they openly apostatize.
