أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ أنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ دَاسَةَ نا أَبُو دَاوُدَ أنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْجُوزَجَانِيُّ نا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أنا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِجَارِيَةٍ سَوْدَاءَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ عَلَيَّ عِتْقَ رَقَبَةٍ مُؤْمِنَةٍ فَقَالَ لَهَا أَيْنَ اللهُ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ بِإِصْبَعِهَا فَقَالَ لَهَا فَمَنْ أَنَا؟ فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ تَعْنِي أَنْ��َ رَسُولُ اللهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَعْتِقْهَا فَإِنَّهَا مُؤْمِنَةٌ
English Translation
Abu Hurairah narrated that a man brought a black slave girl to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: "I owe the freeing of a believing slave. Does this one qualify?" The Prophet asked her: "Where is Allah?" She pointed to the sky. He asked: "Who am I?" She pointed to the Prophet and to the sky, meaning: "You are the Messenger of Allah." The Prophet said: "Free her, for she is a believer."
