أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالُوا نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ نا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَيْمَنَ مَوْلَى عَزَّةَ يَسْأَلُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ وَأَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ يَسْمَعُ قَالَ كَيْفَ تَرَى فِي رَجُلٍ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ حَائِضًا قَالَ طَلَّقَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَأَلَ عُمَرُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِيُرَاجِعْهَا فَرَدَّهَا عَلَيَّ وَقَالَ إِذَا طَهُرَتْ فَلْيُطَلِّقْ أَوْ لِيُمْسِكْ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَقَرَأَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ {يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ} [الطلاق 1] فِي قُبُلِ عِدَّتِهِنَّ
English Translation
Abu al-Zubayr heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ayman, the freed slave of 'Azzah, asking Ibn Umar while Abu al-Zubayr was listening: 'What do you think about a man who divorces his wife while she is menstruating?' He said: 'Abdullah ibn Umar divorced his wife while she was menstruating during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Umar asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about it, and he said: Let him take her back, and when she becomes pure, he may either divorce her or keep her.' Ibn Umar said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) recited: {O Prophet, when you divorce women, divorce them for their waiting period} [al-Talaq 1], meaning at the beginning of their waiting period.
