أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ ثنا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ نا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ حُدَيْرِ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَدْخُلُ الْحَمَّامَ فَيَقُولُ نِعْمَ الْبَيْتُ الْحَمَّامُ يُذْهِبُ الْوَسَخَ وَيُذَكِّرُ النَّارَ يَقُولُ بِئْسَ الْبَيْتُ الْحَمَّامُ؛ لِأَنَّهُ يَكْشِفُ عَنْ أَهْلِهِ الْحَيَاءَ
English Translation
Abu al-Darda' used to enter the bathhouse and say: 'What an excellent house is the bathhouse; it removes dirt and reminds one of the Fire.' He would also say: 'What a terrible house is the bathhouse, for it strips its people of modesty.'
