English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz and Abu Bakr the judge informed us... from Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: Allah sent Muhammad (peace be upon him) with the truth and revealed the Book to him. Among what was revealed was the verse of stoning. We read it, understood it, and memorized it. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stoned and we stoned after him. I fear that after a long time passes, someone might say: We do not find stoning in the Book of Allah, and they would go astray by abandoning an obligation that Allah revealed. Stoning in the Book of Allah is established against one who commits adultery if they are married, whether man or woman, when evidence is established, pregnancy occurs, or confession is made.
