أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ أنا الرَّبِيعُ أنا الشَّافِعِيُّ أنا مُسْلِمٌ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ تُوُفِّيَ عَنْ تِسْعِ نِسْوَةٍ وَكَانَ يَقْسِمُ لِثَمَانٍ
English Translation
Abu Bakr bin Furak informed us... from Laqit bin Sabirah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, I have a wife who has something in her tongue - meaning she speaks harshly. He said: Then divorce her. I said: O Messenger of Allah, she has companionship with me and I have a child from her. He said: Then admonish her. If there is good in her, she will accept it. Do not strike your wife as you strike your slave girl.
