أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ ثنا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ثنا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَدِمَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ مُهَاجِرًا فَآخَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ سَعْدِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ ؓ فَقَالَ لَهُ سَعْدٌ لِي امْرَأَتَانِ فَانْظُرْ أَيَّتَهُمَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ حَتَّى أُطَلِّقَهَا فَإِذَا انْقَضَتْ عِدَّتُهَا تَزَوَّجْهَا وَلِي مَالٌ فَنِصْفُهُ لَكَ فَقَالَ بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ فِي أَهْلِكَ وَمَالِكَ دُلُّونِي عَلَى السُّوقِ فَدَلُّوهُ قَالَ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ يَوْمَئِذٍ حَتَّى جَاءَ بِأَشْيَاءَ ثُمَّ فَقَدَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَأَتَاهُ وَعَلَيْهِ وَضَرُ صُفْرَةٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ مَهْيَمْ؟ فَقَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ قَالَ عَلَى كَمْ؟ قَالَ عَلَى نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ أَوْ قَالَ وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قَالَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَا الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أنبأ حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ نَحْوَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَصَابَ شَيْئًا مِنْ سَمْنٍ وَأَقِطٍ رَبِحَهُ
English Translation
Anas said: Abd al-Rahman came as an emigrant, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) established brotherhood between him and Sa'd ibn al-Rabi' (may Allah be pleased with them). Sa'd said to him: 'I have two wives, so look at which of them you prefer and I will divorce her. When her waiting period ends, marry her. And I have wealth, so half of it is for you.' He said: 'May Allah bless you in your family and wealth. Direct me to the market.' So they directed him. He did not return that day until he came back with goods. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) noticed his absence and came to him, and he had traces of yellow on him. He asked: 'What is this?' He said: 'I married a woman from the Ansar.' He asked: 'For how much?' He said: 'For a date-stone of gold,' or he said, 'the weight of a date-stone of gold.' He said: 'Give a wedding feast, even if with a sheep.' He also said: He obtained some ghee and dried curd, from which he made profit.
