English Translation
Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Your two fathers — meaning al-Zubayr and Abu Bakr — were among those who responded to Allah and the Messenger after they had been wounded." She said: "When the polytheists withdrew from Uhud, and the Prophet and his companions had suffered what they suffered, he feared they might return. So he said: 'Who will volunteer to pursue them so they know we still have strength?' Abu Bakr and al-Zubayr volunteered with seventy men. They went in pursuit of the enemy, who heard of them and retreated. They returned safely with the grace and bounty of Allah, having not encountered the enemy."
