وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ بِبَغْدَادَ أنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أنا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ لَا يَغُرَّنَّكَ صَلَاةُ رَجُلٍ وَلَا صِيَامُهُ مَنْ شَاءَ صَامَ وَمَنْ شَاءَ صَلَّى وَلَكِنْ لَا دِينَ لِمَنْ لَا أَمَانَةَ لَهُ
English Translation
Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: 'Let not a man's prayer or fasting deceive you. Whoever wishes may pray, and whoever wishes may fast. But there is no religion for one who has no trustworthiness.'
