حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادٌ مَوْلَى بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ دَاخِلٌ الْجَنَّةَ بِعَمَلِهِ قِيلَ وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي اللَّهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنْهُ وَفَضْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ.
English Translation
Yahya narrated to us: Isma'il narrated to us, he said: Ziyad, the freedman of Banu Makhzum, narrated to us, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: 'None of you will enter Paradise by his deeds alone.' It was said: 'Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Not even me, unless Allah envelops me in mercy and favor from Himself.' Yahya narrated to us, from Hisham, from Muhammad, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the like of it.
