وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَيْسَ الْمِسْكِينُ بِالطَّوَّافِ الَّذِي تَرُدُّهُ التَّمْرَةُ وَالتَّمْرَتَانِ وَالْأُكْلَةُ وَالْأُكْلَتَانِ وَلَكِنَّ الْمِسْكِينَ الَّذِي لَا يَجِدُ غِنًى يُغْنِيهِ وَلَا يَسْأَلُ النَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا.
English Translation
And with his chain: I heard Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'The poor person is not the one who goes around begging, whom a date or two, or a mouthful or two, turns away. Rather, the poor person is the one who does not find enough wealth to satisfy him, yet does not ask people insistently.'
