حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ صَوْمِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلَا يَرْفُثْ وَلَا يَجْهَلْ فَإِنْ جُهِلَ عَلَيْهِ فَلْيَقُلْ إِنِّي امْرُؤٌ صَائِمٌ.
English Translation
Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, he said: "When it is the fasting day of one of you, let him not use obscene speech nor act ignorantly; and if someone acts ignorantly toward him, let him say, 'I am a person who is fasting.'"
