حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ مِنْ النَّخْعِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي.
English Translation
Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah and Hajjaj narrated to us - Hajjaj said: Shu'bah informed us - from Abd Allah ibn Yazid - Hajjaj said: "from al-Nakha'" - he said: I heard Abu Zur'ah, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Name yourselves with my name, but do not take my kunyah (Abu al-Qasim) as your own."
