Waki' told us, he said: Sufyan and Abd al-Rahman, from Sufyan, from Asim ibn Ubaydullah, from Ziyad ibn Thuwayb, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came in to me while I was complaining of illness — Abd al-Rahman said in his account: "visiting me" — and said: "Shall I not teach you" — Abd al-Rahman said: "Shall I not perform for you a ruqyah (incantation) with which Gabriel, peace be upon him, performed ruqyah on me?" I said: "Yes indeed, by my father and mother." He said: "In the name of Allah I perform ruqyah on you, and Allah heals you from every disease that harms you, and from the evil of those who blow on knots [practicing sorcery], and from the evil of an envier when he envies." And Abd al-Rahman said [in his account]: "from every disease that is in you."
