حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمْ مِنْ صَائِمٍ لَيْسَ لَهُ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ إِلَّا الْجُوعُ وَكَمْ مِنْ قَائِمٍ لَيْسَ لَهُ مِنْ قِيَامِهِ إِلَّا السَّهَرُ.
English Translation
Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from Usamah, from Sa'id, from Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "How many fasting people gain nothing from their fast except hunger, and how many people standing in night prayer gain nothing from their standing except sleeplessness."
