حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْزَلَ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى سَبْعَةِ أَحْرُفٍ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ.
English Translation
Ibn Numair narrated to us, who said: Muhammad - meaning Ibn Amr - narrated to us, who said: Abu Salamah narrated to us, from Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah the Mighty and Sublime revealed the Quran in seven modes of recitation: All-Knowing, All-Wise, All-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
