حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ثَوْرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ يَزِيدَ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْعَيْنُ حَقٌّ وَيَحْضُرُ بِهَا الشَّيْطَانُ وَحَسَدُ ابْنِ آدَمَ.
English Translation
Ibn Numair narrated to us, who said: Thawr - meaning Ibn Yazid - narrated to us, from Makhul, from Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The evil eye is real, and Shaytan and the envy of the son of Adam attend with it."
