English Translation
Yahya narrated to us, from Abd al-Malik, who said: Ata' narrated to us, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet (peace be upon him): "The best charity is that given from surplus wealth. The upper hand (the giving hand) is better than the lower hand (the receiving hand). Start with those you are responsible for." Yahya once said: "There is no charity except from surplus wealth."
