حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ تَجَاوَزَ لِأُمَّتِي عَمَّا حَدَّثَتْ بِهِ أَنْفُسَهَا مَا لَمْ تَكَلَّمْ بِهِ.
English Translation
Isma'il narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah, from Zurarah, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who said: "Allah the Almighty has pardoned my Ummah for what their souls whisper to them, as long as they do not speak of it or act upon it."
