حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ كُلُّ مَوْلُودٍ يُولَدُ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ فَأَبَوَاهُ يُهَوِّدَانِهِ وَيُنَصِّرَانِهِ وَيُشْرِكَانِهِ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Sulayman, from Dhakwan, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "Every child is born upon the fitrah (natural disposition), then his parents make him a Jew, a Christian, or a polytheist."
