English Translation
Musa ibn Dawud narrated to us, he said: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from 'Ubaydullah ibn Abi Ja'far, from Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (peace be upon him), from Allah the Almighty who said: "'I was ill and the son of Adam did not visit Me, and I was thirsty and the son of Adam did not give Me drink.' I said: 'How can You be ill, O Lord?' He said: 'A servant of Mine from among those on earth falls ill and is not visited. Had he visited him, what he would have found would have been for Me. And he becomes thirsty on earth and is not given drink. Had he given him drink, what he would have given would have been for Me.'"
