حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِخِيَارِكُمْ قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ خِيَارُكُمْ أَطْوَلُكُمْ أَعْمَارًا وَأَحْسَنُكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا.
English Translation
Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Malik narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Shall I not inform you of the best among you?" They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "The best among you are those with the longest lives and the best character."
