حَدَّثَنَا مَكِّيٌّ حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا تَحْتَ ثَنِيَّةِ لِفْتٍ طَلَعَ عَلَيْنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ مِنْ الثَّنِيَّةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ انْظُرْ مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِعْمَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ هَذَا.
English Translation
We went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) until, when we were beneath the pass of Lift, Khalid ibn al-Walid came over the pass toward us. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to Abu Hurayrah: 'Look, who is this?' Abu Hurayrah said: 'Khalid ibn al-Walid.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'What an excellent servant of Allah this is.'
