وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ كَانَ رَجُلَانِ مِنْ بَلِيٍّ مِنْ قُضَاعَةَ أَسْلَمَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاسْتُشْهِدَ أَحَدُهُمَا وَأُخِّرَ الْآخَرُ سَنَةً قَالَ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ فَأُرِيتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا الْمُؤَخَّرَ مِنْهُمَا أُدْخِلَ قَبْلَ الشَّهِيدِ فَعَجِبْتُ لِذَلِكَ فَأَصْبَحْتُ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ ذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ صَامَ بَعْدَهُ رَمَضَانَ وَصَلَّى سِتَّةَ آلَافِ رَكْعَةٍ أَوْ كَذَا وَكَذَا رَكْعَةً صَلَاةَ السَّنَةِ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ بَلِيٍّ وَهُمْ حَيٌّ مِنْ قُضَاعَةَ فَذَكَرَهُ.
English Translation
Abu Hurayrah said: "There were two men from Bali, a clan of Quda'ah, who accepted Islam with the Prophet (peace be upon him). One of them was martyred and the other was delayed by a year. Talhah ibn Ubaydillah said: 'I was shown Paradise and I saw the one who was delayed admitted before the martyr. I was amazed by that.' In the morning, this was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he said: 'Did he not fast Ramadan after him, and pray six thousand rak'ahs - or such and such rak'ahs - the prayer of the year?'"
