وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَحَاجَّ آدَمُ وَمُوسَى فَقَالَ لَهُ مُوسَى أَنْتَ آدَمُ الَّذِي أَغْوَيْتَ النَّاسَ وَأَخْرَجْتَهُمْ مِنْ الْجَنَّةِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ فَقَالَ لَهُ آدَمُ أَنْتَ مُوسَى الَّذِي أَعْطَاكَ اللَّهُ عِلْمَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَاصْطَفَاكَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِرِسَالَاتِهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ أَتَلُومُنِي عَلَى أَمْرٍ كَانَ قَدْ كُتِبَ عَلَيَّ أَنْ أَفْعَلَ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ أُخْلَقَ قَالَ فَحَاجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمَا وَسَلَّمَ.
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Adam and Musa debated. Musa said to him: You are Adam who led people astray and caused them to be expelled from Paradise to the earth. Adam said to him: You are Musa to whom Allah gave knowledge of all things and chose above mankind with His messages. He said: Yes. Adam said: Do you blame me for something that was decreed upon me before I was created? So Adam won the argument over Musa, peace be upon them both.'
