حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَعْقِدُ الشَّيْطَانُ عَلَى قَافِيَةِ رَأْسِ أَحَدِكُمْ ثَلَاثَ عُقَدٍ بِكُلِّ عُقْدَةٍ يَضْرِبُ عَلَيْكَ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا فَارْقُدْ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً يَضْرِبُ عَلَيْهِ بِكُلِّ عُقْدَةٍ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا قَالَ وَإِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ فَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ فَإِذَا تَوَضَّأَ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَتَانِ فَإِذَا صَلَّى انْحَلَّتْ الْعُقَدُ وَأَصْبَحَ طَيِّبَ النَّفْسِ نَشِيطًا وَإِلَّا أَصْبَحَ خَبِيثَ النَّفْسِ كَسْلَانًا.
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever says La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa ala kulli shay'in qadir (There is no deity except Allah alone, with no partner; to Him belongs sovereignty and praise, and He has power over all things) one hundred times in a day, it is equivalent to freeing ten slaves, one hundred good deeds are recorded for him, one hundred sins are erased from him, and it is a protection for him from the Shaytan on that day until evening. No one does better than him except one who does more.'
