English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated from Ata ibn al-Sa'ib from his father from Abdullah ibn Amr who said: A man came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) to pledge allegiance to him for hijrah (emigration). He was insistent upon it, so the Prophet said: "I did not come to you until I made them both weep" - meaning his parents. He said: "Go back to them and make them laugh as you made them weep."
