حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ سَمِعْتُ حُمَيْدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ مِنْ أَكْبَرِ الذَّنْبِ أَنْ يَسُبَّ الرَّجُلُ وَالِدَيْهِ قَالُوا وَكَيْفَ يَسُبُّ الرَّجُلُ وَالِدَيْهِ قَالَ يَسُبُّ أَبَا الرَّجُلِ فَيَسُبُّ أَبَاهُ وَيَسُبُّ أُمَّهُ فَيَسُبُّ أُمَّهُ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far and Hajjaj said: Shu'bah narrated from Sa'd ibn Ibrahim from Humayd. Hajjaj said: I heard Humayd ibn Abd al-Rahman from Abdullah ibn Amr from the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said: "Indeed, among the greatest of sins is for a man to curse his parents." They said: "How does a man curse his parents?" He said: "He insults another man's father, so that man insults his father; and he insults another man's mother, so that man insults his mother."
