حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ أَنَّ نَوْفًا وَعَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو اجْتَمَعَا فَقَالَ نَوْفٌ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِي وَأَنَا أُحَدِّثُكَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَعَقَّبَ مَنْ عَقَّبَ وَرَجَعَ مَنْ رَجَعَ فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَثُوبَ النَّاسُ لِصَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ فَجَاءَ وَقَدْ حَفَزَهُ النَّفَسُ رَافِعًا إِصْبَعَهُ هَكَذَا وَعَقَدَ تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ وَأَشَارَ بِإِصْبَعِهِ السَّبَّابَةِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ أَبْشِرُوا مَعْشَرَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ هَذَا رَبُّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ فَتَحَ بَابًا مِنْ أَبْوَابِ السَّمَاءِ يُبَاهِي بِكُمْ الْمَلَائِكَةَ يَقُولُ مَلَائِكَتِي انْظُرُوا إِلَى عِبَادِي أَدَّوْا فَرِيضَةً وَهُمْ يَنْتَظِرُونَ أُخْرَى حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَزْدِيِّ وَعَنْ نَوْفٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِي عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ وَزَادَ فِيهِ وَإِنْ كَادَ يَحْسِرُ ثَوْبَهُ عَنْ رُكْبَتَيْهِ وَقَدْ حَفَزَهُ النَّفَسُ.
English Translation
Hasan ibn Musa narrated to us: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated from Ali ibn Zayd from Mutarrif ibn Abdullah ibn al-Shikhkhir that Nawf and Abdullah ibn Amr gathered together. Nawf said - and he mentioned the hadith. Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As said: "And I shall narrate to you from the Prophet (peace be upon him)." He said: "We prayed with the Prophet (peace be upon him) one night. Those who stayed behind stayed, and those who left returned. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came before the people gathered for the Isha prayer. He came while his breath was pressing him, raising his finger like this" - and he formed twenty-nine and pointed his index finger toward the sky - "and he was saying: 'Rejoice, O community of Muslims! This is your Lord the Mighty and Majestic who has opened a gate of the gates of heaven, boasting about you to the angels, saying: My angels, look at My servants - they have fulfilled an obligation and are waiting for another.'" Hasan ibn Musa narrated to us: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated from Thabit al-Bunani from Abu Ayyub al-Azdi and from Nawf from Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As from the Prophet (peace be upon him) similarly, and he added: "And he had nearly uncovered his garment from his knees and his breath was pressing him."
