English Translation

Abd al-Samad ibn Abd al-Warith narrated to us: My father narrated to me, Habib narrated from Amr from his father from Abdullah ibn Amr that Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have trained hunting dogs, so give me a ruling regarding their catch." He said: "If you have trained hunting dogs, then eat what they catch for you." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, whether it is slaughtered properly or not?" He said: "Whether it is slaughtered properly or not." He said: "Even if it eats from it?" He said: "Even if it eats from it." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, give me a ruling regarding my bow." He said: "Eat what your bow catches for you." He said: "Whether it is slaughtered properly or not?" He said: "Whether it is slaughtered properly or not." He said: "Even if it disappears from me?" He said: "Even if it disappears from you, as long as it has not spoiled - meaning changed - or you find in it the mark of other than your arrow." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, give us a ruling regarding the vessels of the Magians when we are compelled to use them." He said: "When you are compelled to use them, wash them with water and cook in them."
