وَقَالَ أَلَا إِنَّ مَوْعِدَكُمْ حَوْضِي عَرْضُهُ وَطُولُهُ وَاحِدٌ وَهُوَ كَمَا بَيْنَ أَيْلَةَ وَمَكَّةَ وَهُوَ مَسِيرَةُ شَهْرٍ فِيهِ مِثْلُ النُّجُومِ أَبَارِيقُ شَرَابُهُ أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنْ الْفِضَّةِ مَنْ شَرِبَ مِنْهُ مَشْرَبًا لَمْ يَظْمَأْ بَعْدَهُ أَبَدًا فَقَالَ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ مَا سَمِعْتُ فِي الْحَوْضِ حَدِيثًا أَثْبَتَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَدَّقَ بِهِ وَأَخَذَ الصَّحِيفَةَ فَحَبَسَهَا عِنْدَهُ.
English Translation
And he said: Indeed your appointed meeting place is my Pool (Hawd). Its width and length are the same, and it is like the distance between Aylah and Makkah — a month's journey. In it are pitchers like the stars. Its drink is whiter than silver. Whoever drinks from it once will never be thirsty again. Ubaydullah said: I have never heard a more authentic hadith about the Pool than this. So he believed in it and took the document and kept it with him.
