حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شُعْبَةَ الطَّحَّانُ جَارُ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فِي جَنَازَةٍ فَسَمِعَ صَوْتَ إِنْسَانٍ يَصِيحُ فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهِ فَأَسْكَتَهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ لِمَ أَسْكَتَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّهُ يَتَأَذَّى بِهِ الْمَيِّتُ حَتَّى يُدْخَلَ قَبْرَهُ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ إِنِّي أُصَلِّي مَعَكَ الصُّبْحَ ثُمَّ أَلْتَفِتُ فَلَا أَرَى وَجْهَ جَلِيسِي ثُمَّ أَحْيَانًا تُسْفِرُ قَالَ كَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي وَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَهَا كَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّيهَا.
English Translation
Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri, Muhammad ibn Abdullah, told us: Abu Shu'bah al-Tahhan, neighbor of al-A'mash, told us, from Abu al-Rabi', who said: I was with Ibn Umar at a funeral, and he heard the voice of a person crying out, so he sent someone to him and had him silenced. I said, 'O Abu Abd al-Rahman, why did you have him silenced?' He said: 'The deceased is distressed by it until he is brought into his grave.' I said to him: 'I pray the dawn prayer with you, then I turn and cannot see the face of my companion sitting beside me, yet sometimes it becomes bright (before we finish).' He said: 'Thus I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, pray, and I loved to pray it just as I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, pray it.'
