حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَقُولُ قَدْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْتَكِفُ الْعَشْرَ الْأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ.
English Translation
Ali ibn Bahr told us: Hatim ibn Isma'il told us, from Musa ibn Uqbah, from Nafi', that Abdullah ibn Umar used to say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to seclude himself (in i'tikaf) during the last ten days of Ramadan.
