English Translation
Yazid ibn Harun told us: Abd al-Malik informed us, from Muslim ibn Yannaq, who said: I was with Abdullah ibn Umar in the assembly of Banu Abdullah at Mecca, when a young man passed by us letting his lower garment trail. He said: 'Come here, young man.' So he came to him, and he said, 'Who are you?' He said, 'I am one of the Banu Bakr ibn Sa'd.' He said, 'Would you like Allah to look at you on the Day of Resurrection?' He said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Then raise your garment, for I heard Abu al-Qasim, peace and blessings be upon him, say - with these two ears of mine' - and he pointed with his two fingers to his ears - 'saying: Whoever drags his garment, intending by it nothing but pride, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.'
