English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ubayd told us: Abd al-Malik, that is Ibn Abi Sulayman, told us, from Anas ibn Sirin, from Ibn Umar, who said: I asked him about his wife whom he had divorced in the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. He said: I divorced her while she was menstruating, so I mentioned that to Umar, and Umar mentioned it to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Order him to take her back; when she becomes pure, let him divorce her during her purity, in accordance with the sunnah.' He said: So I did that. Anas said: I asked him, 'Did you count the divorce you pronounced while she was menstruating?' He said: 'And why should I not count it, if I acted foolishly and erred?'
