حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَرَّقَ نَخْلَ بَنِي النَّضِيرِ وَقَطَّعَ وَهِيَ الْبُوَيْرَةُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى { مَا قَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ لِينَةٍ أَوْ تَرَكْتُمُوهَا قَائِمَةً عَلَى أُصُولِهَا فَبِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ وَلِيُخْزِيَ الْفَاسِقِينَ }.
English Translation
Yunus told us, Layth told us, from Nafi', from Abdullah, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, burned the palm trees of Banu al-Nadir and cut them down - that is, al-Buwayra - so Allah, Blessed and Exalted, revealed: "Whatever palm trees you have cut down or left standing on their roots, it was by Allah's leave, and so that He might disgrace the wicked."
