حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ الْوَلِيدُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ أَبَرَّ الْبِرِّ أَنْ يَصِلَ الرَّجُلُ أَهْلَ وُدِّ أَبِيهِ.
English Translation
Abu 'Abd al-Rahman 'Abdullah ibn Yazid told us: Haywah told us: Abu 'Uthman al-Walid told us, from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar, from Ibn 'Umar, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "The most dutiful act of filial devotion is that a man maintain ties with those his father loved."
