English Translation
Abu Abd al-Rahman Abdullah ibn Yazid told us, Sa'id - meaning Ibn Abi Ayyub - told us, Abu Hani' told us, from Abbas al-Hajri, from Abdullah ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab: that a man came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have a servant who behaves badly and does wrong - shall I beat him?" He said, "Forgive him seventy times each day."
