حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ كَانَ مُلْتَمِسَهَا فَلْيَلْتَمِسْهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ فَإِنْ عَجَزَ أَوْ ضَعُفَ فَلَا يُغْلَبْ عَلَى السَّبْعِ الْبَوَاقِي.
English Translation
Affan told us, Shu'bah told us, from Uqbah ibn Hurayth: I heard Ibn Umar say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever wishes to seek it [the Night of Decree], let him seek it in the last ten [nights]; and if he is unable or too weak, let him not fail to seek it in the remaining seven."
