English Translation
Musa ibn Dawud narrated to us: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from Khalid ibn Abi Imran, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say: "A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim; he does not wrong him nor abandon him"; and he used to say: "By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, no two people love each other and are then separated except by some sin that one of them commits"; and he used to say: "A Muslim man has six duties of kindness owed to him by his brother: he should say 'may God have mercy on you' when he sneezes, visit him when he is ill, give him sincere advice when he is absent, attend him, greet him with peace when he meets him, answer him when he invites him, and follow his funeral when he dies." And he forbade a Muslim from shunning his brother for more than three days.
