حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ وَشُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ كُنَّا إِذَا بَايَعْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى السَّمْعِ يُلَقِّنُنَا أَوْ يُلَقِّفُنَا فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتَ.
English Translation
Abd al-Rahman narrated to us: Sufyan and Shu'bah narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Dinar, from Ibn Umar, who said: When we pledged allegiance to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to hear and obey, he would prompt us or teach us to say "in as much as you are able."
