حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ الْوَتْرِ أَوَاجِبٌ هُوَ فَقَالَ أَوْتَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْمُسْلِمُونَ.
English Translation
Waki' narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Umar ibn Muhammad, from Nafi': A man asked Ibn 'Umar about witr, whether it was obligatory. He said: 'The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and the Muslims performed witr.'
