حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ مِنْ الْخُيَلَاءِ لَمْ يَنْظُرْ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ ذَكَرَتْ النِّسَاءَ فَقَالَ تُرْخِي شِبْرًا قَالَتْ إِذَنْ تَنْكَشِفَ قَالَ فَذِرَاعًا لَا يَزِدْنَ عَلَيْهِ.
English Translation
Yahya told us, from Ubaydullah: Nafi' informed me, from Ibn Umar, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Whoever drags his garment out of pride, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection." He said: And Sulayman ibn Yasar informed me that Umm Salamah mentioned women, and he said, "Let them lower it a handspan." She said, "Then their legs would be exposed." He said, "Then a forearm's length - let them not add to it."
