English Translation
Abdullah said: I found in my father's book: Yazid narrated to us: Shu'bah informed us, from Jabalah ibn Suhaym, who said: Ibn al-Zubayr used to provide us dates as rations, and the people were suffering hardship at that time. He said: Abdullah ibn Umar passed by us and forbade us from combining (two dates at a time), and said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade combining, except that a man ask permission of his brother.
