حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ وَعَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ أَسْلَمَ غَيْلَانُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ وَتَحْتَهُ عَشْرُ نِسْوَةٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خُذْ مِنْهُنَّ أَرْبَعًا.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us: Ma'mar narrated to us: Ibn Shihab informed us — and Abd al-A'la, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Salim ibn Abdullah, from Abdullah ibn Umar, who said: Ghaylan ibn Salamah embraced Islam while he had ten wives, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him: Keep four of them.
