حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ قَالَ كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَتَوَضَّأُ ثَلَاثًا يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَتَوَضَّأُ مَرَّةً يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
English Translation
Rawh told us, al-Awza'i told us, from al-Muttalib ibn 'Abdullah ibn Hantab, who said: Ibn 'Umar used to perform ablution three times, attributing it to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while Ibn 'Abbas used to perform ablution once, attributing it to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
