حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَطَمَ الْخُدُودَ أَوْ شَقَّ الْجُيُوبَ أَوْ دَعَا بِدَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ.
English Translation
Abu Mu'awiya told us: al-A'mash told us, from Abdullah ibn Murrah, from Masruq, from Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He is not one of us who slaps his cheeks, tears open his garments, or calls with the call of the Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance)."
