حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ خَدِّهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ.
English Translation
Humayd ibn Abd al-Rahman told us, al-Hasan told us, from Abu Ishaq - Abu al-Ahwas told us, from Abdullah, who said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to give the greeting of peace to his right and to his left until the whiteness of his cheek was seen: 'Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.'"
